In the position of Support Engineer you will provide technical and customer support to the event organisers and their exhibitors who have purchased Visit by GES products. Furthermore you will build onsite registration systems and deliver a welcome experience to our clients and the event visitors. In this role you plan and deliver all technical related elements required in the signed Customer Contract. Providing technical support to your allocated client base is not only during the set up for the shows but throughout the year.

You will be based at our office in Haarlem. In this role you will also travel local, national and international to events onsite to support the event organisers and their exhibitors.


Main Responsibilities


Work closely with the Client Managers to understand the scope and requirements of the events.

Plan and deliver client requirements.

Provide comprehensive, clear, support to event organisers and their exhibitors, by phone, email and face to face on site.

Feedback commonly reoccurring issues to development for fixing in next release.

Feedback client requested improvements for the development Roadmap.

Pre-show data management and set up.

Complete data cleansing and post show IT support as required.

Assist in collating FAQ’s to ensure documentation is up to date and relevant and to be available to the CM team to ensure knowledge is shared.

Provide technical and customer support.

Input and support the Client Manager at client update meetings when required.

Support the client in back office use of the system.

Quality control all completed job sheet deliverables to ensure they have been delivered accurately to the specification Identify any event requirements which are outside the scope of the contract and ensure the CM sends the customer a quote for delivery and if agreed.

Monitor progress and report on activities and provide relevant management information.

Develop and implement ideas for constantly improving delivery and deliverables to all clients.

Liaise and attend meetings with other company departments and clients as necessary to perform duties and aid the business development.

Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge and skills.

Skills


You have an understanding of networking and have the ability of setting up hardware for Event Registration systems or similar. Furthermore you can grasp computer based systems and have working knowledge of data. HTML exposure would be preferred.

 

Experience


We are looking for a data savvy, computer literate individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

You need to be comfortable talking to customers, willing to go onsite and be away from home. 

You need to be experienced as a Support Engineer in the Events Industry or a similar discipline.

Ideally you will know about HTML and have a basic knowledge about networking, and a thirst to learn.

A driver’s licence is essential for this role.
